This is a non-sound decoder with an NMRA 8-pin connector built right onto the decoder PCB, eliminating the usual wire harness. The small size fits easily into most HO scale locomotives where space is at a premium. Naturally, this decoder has 2 or 4 digit addressing and 14, 28/128 speed steps, and directional lighting.

A 16-bit sound-only decoder that is replacing the 0001662 Sounder decoder. 16-bit sound technology provides a level of sound reproduction quality and "presence"not available in the older Sounder. All 28 NMRA functions are incorporated, and an on-board full fidelity speaker and MRC's Brilliance sound reproduction are included in this performance upgrade/replacement.
